Children’s Portraits, Columbus Indiana

Mini sessions are a great way to get a few beautiful images of your children throughout the year to capture them as they grow throughout the year…  and they do grow and change fast don’t they? Whew! I feel tired just thinking about how fast my grandchildren are changing right before my very eyes! Here are a few from a mini session I did with my grandkids last night. As usual, when the camera goes up, so does Miss Princess Trinity’s obstinate attitude!  So this was an extreme “mini” session!  lol

Newborn Portraits, Meet Matison!

Welcome to the world, little Matison Spencer! Born only one week ago, I had the priviledge of photographing this little angel!  Congrats to Kimberly and Matthew on the arrival of such a gift from God! I hope to see Matison often throughout the years!

Terrible Two’s?? naw….

Hey everyone. Gosh it’s been too long since I updated this blog. That’s what happens when you misplace you password and changed email accounts! (note to self… hide passwords someplace I’ll remember I hid them!)

I want to tell you all what I’ve been doing, but first a couple of pictures…  because they speak 1000x more than words.

This is my dear granddaughter Trinity, and she’s every bit what a two-year old should be. Energetic, curious, constantly discovering something new in her little world. Apparently the secrets of the universe are kept in my make-up bag, because that’s often where she likes to look! We love having Trinity live with us right now, along with mommy and her “Bubby”. And they grow so very quickly, even the willful moments are ones to remember……….   face it, they prepare the parents for the teenage years, so it’s a good thing to remember! This was one of those moments. After replacing the chair in it’s “correct”  placement for light a dozen or so times, only to have her defiantly move it each time as I walked back to the camera, we both gave up. I left the chair how she had, and Trinity, well she decided she just would not look at the camera.  Well maybe a quick peak to see if I was still watching her.

Hopefully someday soon,  I’ll catch her happy, cooperative AND having a “good hair day”…  then I’ll try some more cute photos! But until then,  it’s “No way grandma,  no way.”

I do have a lot of updates to add, because we’ve ben trying to pull things back together here and start again. Some of you know that Jack’s mom is overcoming a fight with cancer and I help her out a lot, so the last year or more we’ve had our energies very focused. And through that time, God has been doing a major work in my life . I can honestly say, I am not the person I was a year ago,  and that God’s love is more awesome than anything I’ve ever know!

Nathan & Laura Worton!!

While still on temporary break from new client sessions, I could not have refused  it when my stepson, Nathan, and his lovely bride Laura, asked me to be their wedding photographer. What a beautiful wedding it was! The Bride was radiant, and love in Nate’s eyes was just beaming! We deeply love Laura and could not be happier that she is a part of our family “officially”. I didn’t offer a toast at the reception, mostly because I cry too easily. :) But Nathan, it has been a joy for me to watch you grow from the teenager I first met into the man you now are. I’ve loved watching you become the best daddy Laylee could have  and look forward to seeing you become an awesome husband for Laura! And Laura, you have been a light of peace and hope in our family. You have been so good to Nathan, and for Nathan. I can’t imagine anyone who could love him better than you. We’re so glad you are part of our family. I pray the fullness of God’s blessing over your lives and marriage!

Here’s a few sneak peak images from this sweet wedding. Enjoy.

It’s been a long break

I just wanted to let everyone know we are ready to resume sessions here at CWP. Thank you all for being patient during this break while I have been helping a family member during a time of illness. Thank you to everyone who’s been praying for us. The battle with cancer is always hard, but not impossible when you have God, and the support of a loving family and caring friends.

We are, however gearing up to reopen with a renewed dedication to providing the best we can for you. We’ll update you soon on when our official reopening will be. Thank you everyone.

NEW CHANGES at CWP!

I’m really excited to make it official and announce to everyone the changes to CWP for this year. For 2010, I’ve decided to shift the focus away from being a wedding photographer and get back to the art of photography! This was a rough decision, and I’ve already had to turn down at least 4 weddings since the first of the year. It was not easy, because I do love the romance of the day, but I’ll still be capturing those romantic images, just in a new way – through “Romance Imagery Sessions”. These will be sessions that celebrate your love for each other, the intimacy and innocense of being passionately committed. Romantic, fun, sweet, and maybe a bit sexy too, this is a great way to celebrate an engagement, an anniversary, of even just to add some post-wedding bridal shots to your collection, that maybe are in a location that you were unable to get to on your actual wedding day.  Sorta like a “trash the dress” post wedding shot, only we won’t trash your dress, and we want you to bring your handsome groom with you!

Another change is shifting gears to focus on Senior Portraits! I admit it, I love shooting seniors because they are so full of life, so adventurous and willing to do just about anything  new and creative I just wanna try to see if it works! So Seniors, get ready and let’s have a great season with new places, and familiar favorites. Anything is possible, so you never know where we might end up shooting!

The last change, and I’m so happy to say, is with children’s photography. I’ve fallen IN LOVE with those sweet baby faces and them big wonder-filled eyes on all the little ones I see around me! I have found them to be such fun and enjoyable sessions, I’m really hoping to expand my client base and portfolio in this area this year. So if you know anyone with little ones,  please telll them about my work.

Halloween Costume Contest!!

Every year for fun we take pictures of the neighborhood kids all dressed up for trick or treating,  and then offer digital images to any parent that wants one.  It’s just a fun way to bring my passion for capturing the moments of our lives into the festivities. Well, this year, we’d like to take it a step further, and have a costume contest!
